The first step in joining our team is to complete this application. For the safety and security of our residents, all applicants are also required to complete a background check.

We understand that life is full of responsibilities and unexpected circumstances, but we ask—out of respect for the survivors we serve—that you commit to being as prompt and consistent as possible. Building trust and rapport is essential in this work. Below you’ll find our Staff Rules and Regulations, Waiver, Staff Agreement, and Confidentiality and Privacy Agreement. Please take time to review them carefully. By agreeing, you acknowledge that you understand and agree to uphold these standards.

We are confident that your time with us will be meaningful and rewarding. The work can be challenging and sometimes feel thankless, but we want you to know how deeply we value your willingness to step into this calling. STAFF RULES & REGULATIONS *

I acknowledge that if I am hired for a staff position at Set Free Monterey Bay, I agree to abide by the following rules and regulations:

I will not participate in the use or sale of illicit drugs.
I will maintain the privacy and security of the home and residents by not taking unapproved pictures, sharing the address, or bringing unapproved individuals onto the property.
I will refrain from any romantic or sexual relationship with residents during their time in the program and for at least one year following their graduation.
I understand that Set Free Monterey Bay is not responsible for the damage or loss of any personal items while working on-site or off-site with residents.
I understand that Set Free Monterey Bay cannot be held liable for any accident, injury, or loss while working on-site or off-site with residents.
I understand and agree that my employment or service is at-will, meaning either Set Free Monterey Bay or I may end my service without notice.
I will not bring any type of weapon onto campus. This includes, but is not limited to: guns, knives, swords, mace, brass knuckles, bats, or any item that could be considered a weapon.
I will abide by all bylaws, policies, and procedures of Set Free Monterey Bay and refrain from any conduct in violation of its rules, handbooks, programs, policies, written materials, and teachings.
I understand that all policies are subject to change without prior notice.

STAFF WAIVER *

I hereby voluntarily agree to participate in the activities and work of Set Free Monterey Bay. I understand that I must complete all screening and training requirements before beginning my work or service. Set Free Monterey Bay staff reserves the right to discontinue my service at any time, for any reason.

I acknowledge and assume all risks of injury, harm, or loss associated with my employment or volunteer service, and I release Set Free Monterey Bay and its employees from any liability related to these activities. This release includes any claims or actions caused entirely or in part by my participation in voluntary work.

I understand that by signing this document, I am giving up the right to sue Set Free Monterey Bay for any injuries, damages, or losses that may occur during my service.

I have read, understand, and voluntarily agree to the terms of this consent.

STAFF AGREEMENT *

No Guarantee of Employment
The acceptance of this completed application does not guarantee that a staff position is available or that Set Free Monterey Bay has agreed to hire me. Set Free Monterey Bay is under no obligation to offer me employment as a result of receiving this application.
Authorization for Investigative Report
To process my application and evaluate me for a potential staff position, Set Free Monterey Bay may obtain an investigative report, which could include information gathered through a background check and personal references. This inquiry may include information regarding my character, general reputation, criminal history, and personal characteristics, as applicable.

By signing this application, I authorize Set Free Monterey Bay to request and obtain such information. I release Set Free Monterey Bay, its affiliates, related entities, agents, attorneys, employees, officers, prior employers, references, and record custodians from any claim or liability arising from such requests or disclosures. I agree not to bring any claim or action against Set Free Monterey Bay or its representatives, prior employers, or references based on this information.

A photocopy or facsimile of this authorization shall be as valid as the original.

Truthfulness of Information
I understand that providing false or misleading information or failing to disclose material facts in this application or during any interviews may result in immediate dismissal from Set Free Monterey Bay if employed.

We are grateful for your interest in working with the women at Set Free Monterey Bay! To ensure the privacy of our location and the dignity of the women we serve, all staff and volunteers are asked to agree to the following terms:

By signing below, I agree that while working or volunteering in any capacity at Set Free Monterey Bay, I will maintain the privacy of the home and residents by:

Not taking unapproved pictures.
Turning off my phone’s location services.
Not sharing the address with others, not writing it down, and not entering it into GPS or mapping apps.
Not bringing unapproved individuals to the home.
Helping to address privacy concerns if I become aware of others discussing the location.

I understand that failure to abide by this agreement may result in immediate termination of my staff or volunteer service.
